Access Statement For Russet House BnB

Introduction

We aim to cater for all visitors, as far as is possible, in our home based two bedroom Bed and Breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions, do feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail (details below)

Pre-Arrival

• Our web site gives details and pictures of our facilities (www.russethousebnb.co.uk)
• We are situated in a quiet road, yet only 200 metres from "The Homend" which is a continuation of Ledbury High Street
• The nearest bus stop is approx. 250 metres away (slightly up hill) in The Homend
• Ledbury Railway station is approx. half a mile away (a level walk), two minutes by car.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• Cars can be parked outside the house. (No restrictions or cost)
• We have a very short (three metres), flat path to the front door.

Main Entrance & Reception

• The front door threshold is 80mm high.
• Our entrance is 810mm wide, leading to entrance hall approx.1.8m by 2.8m.
• Our entrance and hall are well lit inside and out.
• The entrance hall floor consists of patterned, Victorian tiles.
• We are always happy to help with luggage.

Public Areas - General (Internal)

• Both our bedrooms are on the first floor which is accessed by fifteen carpeted steps. These are straight and quite steep, but have a sturdy banister rail, as has the landing on the first floor.
• Bedroom 1(our double) is fully carpeted (short pile), with additional rugs.
• Bedroom 2 has the original wooden floor (dark stained), with various rugs - which have non-slip matting underneath.
• Hall, stairs and upstairs landing are well lit.
• The bathroom for Room 1 has two steps down into it. These are wooden. The bathroom floor is tiled
• The Dining Room, where breakfast is served, is on the ground floor. It has the original wooden floor (dark stained), with various rugs. These have non-slip underlay. Lighting is good.

Public Areas - WC

• There is no downstairs guest toilet

Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away & Cafe

• Breakfast is served in our Dining room on the ground floor. This is a well lit room with overhead lighting and various table lamps. Flooring is dark wood, with several rugs. Chairs (some with arms) and tables can be re-arranged if necessary. A Menu in large print is available.
• Special diets can be catered for - with advanced notice.
• Russet House is completely non-smoking.

Laundry

• Not available, but a Laundrette is situated nearby.

Shop

• Not available, but plenty of shops (and eating places) in easy walking distance.

Leisure Facilities

• Swimming pool and Leisure facilities in town - walking distance.

Bedrooms

• Both bedrooms are on the first floor - up fifteen steps.
• TVs in rooms have remote controls.
• No smoking in Russet House
• Large print registration forms and Breakfast Menu available

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC (En-suite)

• Bedroom 1 has use of Bathroom (private)situated along the landing. This is 2.6 by 3.4m (At longest point), with shower, bath, basin and WC. The shower has a 270mm step up. The bath is 530mm high. Tiled floor
• Bedroom 2 has en-suite, with shower (270mm step up) and WC and there is a sink in the bedroom. Vinyl flooring.

Grounds and Gardens

• A park, with a children's play area - swings etc. is approx. 100m away.

• Russet House is no smoking throughout.
• Mobile phone reception is good.
